Project: Champions the Game is designed to give the player freedom to create what they want, all to fight in a free-to-play War Game that allows for any sort of figures on field.
Step 1: Choose your Faction!
This is a War Game with two Factions (for now…): Heroes and Villains. To begin, choose a side of Hero or Villain.
Step 2: Design your Champion!
Designing your Character takes place in the Champion Design tab. You can choose one of three Basic Types, and a mixture of Abilities and Equipments that create a Point Value. This Point Value will determine how many Units you will be able to bring into battle with your Champion. Be careful though, or you might wind up making a Champion that is too expensive to field in all but the most Extraordinary of Battles.
Step 2.5: Choose your Mode!
Once you have a Champion Designed, you need to choose a Mode to play from the Mode tab. Note: This may require modification of your Champion build to match the Points used for that Mode.
Step 3: Choosing your Units!
Once you have your Champion designed, go to the Assault Squad Page and choose a Squad to accompany your Character into battle. Squads have no Point Cost, so they are perfect for providing additional presence on the board.
Step 4: Enjoy!!
How to Play
At the Start of Play, each Player rolls a Dice. The highest Rolling Player is the one who will go first. All of the Units of that player, and their Champion, receive all of their Attack and Movement Actions, to be used for Attacking/Using Abilities and Moving, respectively. Once all of a Player’s Units and their Champion have used all of their actions, turn passes to the next Player.
Resolving Attacks and Abilities
When you Attack a Foe, you roll Dice equal to the number of Attack Actions you spend on that Attack. When you Attack, use the Attack Roll listed with your Weapon to determine if it Hits: if the result is equal to or Higher than the Attack Roll listed with your Weapon, the Attack Hits. Your target than rolls dice for their Defense, hoping to get equal to or higher than the Defense Roll listed with their armor. If the Result is lower than their Defense Roll, they take Damage. If the Damage is more than 3, the Hit foe is Knocked Back 3 Squares.
If a Foe’s HP is reduced to 0 by an Attack or an Ability, they are Knocked Out and Removed from Battle.
Some Abilities have an Attack Cost: in order to use that Ability you must use Attacks equal to the Attack Cost. Then the Ability activates and does what is described.
